Belt Outreach offers a variety of programs to assist our clients. Outreach
administers some of these programs for outside agencies. Here is
a listing of of special programs Outreach is offering:
- Administers Share the Warmth Heating and Duke Cooling Assistance
- Coordinates NC Department of Health and Human services Baby Love program
- Partners with Ashley Meadows affordable housing on property management and resident classes
- Provides emergency packages for Meals-On-Wheels
- Coordinates with area church home repair teams through Nelson Home repair Program
- Partners with Rutherford-Polk-McDowell District Health Department to provide child friendly dental care through Collins Dental Center
- Works with local agencies on unmet needs such as transportation, health care and mental health for those not covered by Medicare, Medicaid,
- Coordinates Work First and DSS programs
- Provides meeting space for local agencies
- Conducts health cared studies —medical and dental
- Provides mammogram and other health care screening programs for indigent individuals
- Assists local physicians in obtaining medications for the uninsured and underinsured from pharmaceutical manufacturers through our MedAssist program
- Thanksgiving and Christmas food packages and gifts distributed to 1500 eligible clients (398 Thanksgiving, 458 Christmas, 648 Angel Trees)
- Back to school supplies and backpacks distributed to 310 eligible students
- Gives books to eligible children through Children’s Library Book Program
- Provides Hispanic Resource Services
- Develops educational and vocational training classes for clients including individualized budget counseling and job readiness
- Sponsors Teen Crisis High School Advocate class and hotline
- Provides volunteer transportation program to healthcare, dental appointments and ongoing medical procedures
